Man flown after being pulled from water at France Park

Logansport, IN- Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a water recovery incident that occurred at France Park this evening. At approximately 5:15 pm, first responders were dispatched to the area of France Park for a man that had been pulled from the water.

Witnesses stated that they observed the male run into the water from the beach, swim a short distance and then disappear under water. Multiple bystanders entered the water in search of the man and were able to locate him and pull him to shore. Once on land, bystanders performed CPR until EMS arrived on scene.

The male was then transported via ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital where he was then flown to Park View Regional Hospital via Samaritan helicopter where he is listed in critical condition. The incident is currently under further investigation and updates will be provided as more information is gathered.

Assisting agencies: Cass County Sheriff Department, Cass County EMS, Cass County Fire District 1, Cass County 911 Dispatch, and Samaritan Helicopter.
