Man arrested in connection with a 2017 triple homicide

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives have identified and arrested a suspect for his involvement in the deaths of Mark Higgins (64), Keith Higgins (34), and Jessica Carte (34) on June 1, 2017.

After presenting the facts and findings of the investigation to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, charges were formally filed against Kenneth Lancaster (24). Lancaster is currently in jail in Hamilton County, where he is being held on unrelated charges.

Charging information will be released by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Anyone with information about this incident or other criminal activity is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS (8477). Information given via Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and the caller will be eligible for up to a $1000 award for information leading to a felony arrest. This release may be updated if more information becomes available.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
