STATEHOUSE (Oct. 4, 2018) – Cascade High School and Reagan Elementary School were among seven schools honored Tuesday by the Indiana Department of Education for receiving a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School Award, according to State Reps. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) and Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton).
Steuerwald said the schools were recognized for creating an educational atmosphere where excellence thrives and students are challenged every day to reach their full potential.
“Congratulations to our Blue Ribbon schools,” Steuerwald said. “Earning this honor required hard work from students, teachers and support staff who established an environment of academic excellence. All Brownsburg schools are celebrating with the students and staff of Reagan Elementary School.”
For the past 36 years, Thompson said the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has recognized outstanding elementary, middle and high schools that are high performing or have closed student achievement gaps.
“Cascade High School was the only high school in Indiana honored with Blue Ribbon status this year,” Thompson said. “This program seeks out and celebrates schools demonstrating that all students can achieve a high level of academic success. This is great news for Mill Creek schools.”
