Leadership Hendricks County and the Community Foundation Partner to Provide Board Training Series

Leadership Hendricks County (LHC) and the Hendricks County Community Foundation (HCCF) are partnering to offer an eight-part virtual board training series – Lead with Purpose Hendricks County. This training will help those seeking board service to better understand how nonprofits operate and how board members can play effective and satisfying roles in leadership positions.

Participants completing this eight-session, interactive, virtual series will be prepared to lead in the nonprofit boardroom and receive tools for immediate use as a board member. Participants will also gain access to continued board support and resources through a LinkedIn Lead with Purpose Alumni group and quarterly “Time with our Experts” sessions with financial, legal, and human resources professionals and BoardSource Certified Nonprofit Board Consultants from Hedges.

The eight, virtual sessions will be held from 12:00 – 1:30 pm every other Thursday starting on August 10. On November 30, there will be an in-person graduation and networking event at Level Two Coworking at the Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield.

HCCF President and CEO William Rhodehamel said, “We are pleased to bring this level of training to potential board members here in Hendricks County. Well-equipped nonprofit boards play a vital role in the effectiveness and sustainability of our local nonprofit organizations. Volunteers are at the heart of our nonprofits and we are proud to partner with LHC to help train new volunteers that will make an impact for good in our community.”

“LHC has graduates of our program in dozens of board rooms across the county. But as our county grows, so does the need for qualified volunteer leadership,” said Jana Morrison, Executive Director of LHC. “This board training program aligns perfectly with our mission of educating and connecting leaders to better serve their community. We are looking forward to expanding and diversifying the number of equipped volunteers to create positive change in our county through nonprofit board service.”

The total cost of the series is $99, with scholarships available upon request.
