Lane restrictions on US 36 Bridges near Groveland will begin next Week

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces U.S. 36 will be down to one 12’ lane on two bridges near Groveland. Work begins Monday, August 24 on U.S. 36 over Monocah Creek located just over three miles west of S.R. 75. The following week, Tuesday, September 2 crews will begin working on the U.S. 36 Bridge over Clear Creek, located two miles west of S.R. 75. The contractor will be placing polymeric concrete overlay on the bridge decks.

Traffic will be controlled at both bridges with a traffic signal. Construction on these two bridges is scheduled to last through the last week of September, weather permitting.

This project was awarded to HIS Contractors for $1.1 million. The contract includes numerous bridges in Montgomery and Putnam Counties. Work is scheduled to last through the end of October of this year.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
