Kokomo Woman Dies in Howard County Crash

Howard County – Last night at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Howard County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 35 near Howard County Road 80 West, which killed a Kokomo woman.

The preliminary crash investigation by Trooper Jeremy Perez revealed that Jordan Asher, 21, Kokomo, IN was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on U.S 35 near County Road 80 West. Jennifer Eastwood, 48, Logansport, IN  was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on U.S. 35 near County Road 80 West. For a yet to be determined reason the vehicles collided head-on.

Asher was pronounced dead at the crash scene by Howard County Coroner Steve Seele. Eastwood, who had to be extricated from the Jeep, was flown via medical helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

This crash is still under investigation.

Assisting Trooper Perez at the crash scene were Trooper Dustin Rutledge, Trooper A.J. Coffee, ISP Sergeant T.J. Zeiser, ISP Lt. Jeremy Kelly, Trooper Abby Russell, Trooper Dukengston Lavache, Trooper Brandon Fletcher, the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, the Howard County Coroner’s Office, and the Galveston Fire Department.
