IndyGo Offers Open Door Eligible Veterans Free Paratransit Rides on Veteran’s Day

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 10, 2021) — IndyGo is offering free paratransit rides this Veteran’s Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, to Veterans who are already eligible and approved for Open Door service. This free holiday bonus is one way the agency is honoring those who have served our country with immense bravery.

“As a Veteran myself, I understand firsthand the service and sacrifice our Veterans have made and in some cases are still making,” said Inez Evans, IndyGo president and CEO. “At IndyGo, we’ve always valued our Veterans, and this is another way we can pay special tribute to them for all they’ve done for our country.”

Veterans only need a valid Veterans ID to participate. They will not need an IndyGo MyKey Veteran’s Pass.

Regular fare will resume Friday, Nov. 12. Buses will run on a regular schedule on Veteran’s Day.

As a reminder, all Veterans can ride free on fixed routes, including the Red Line, 365 days a year with a valid MyKey Veterans Pass. To learn more about this program, click here.
