IndyGo Announces Fare-Free Holiday Rides; Canned Food Drive

INDIANAPOLIS (December 3, 2020) - IndyGo today announced fare-free ride opportunities on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, as well as a canned good and non-perishable food drive onboard buses and at the Carson Transit Center.

For the second consecutive year, all fixed route and Open Door service will be fare-free on Christmas Day and beginning at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. IndyGo fixed route and Open Door services operate on Sunday schedules on Christmas Day and regular schedules on New Year’s Eve.

In addition, IndyGo will host a canned good and non-perishable food drive on December 15, 2020. Riders who donate a canned good or non-perishable food item as they board any fixed route or Open Door bus on December 15, 2020 will receive a free one-way ride. All donated items will be given to the Midwest Food Bank – Indiana division.

In order to receive a free ride, the donation must be made onboard the bus at the time of the ride. Those who wish to donate but are not riding the bus are also invited to make their donation at Customer Service at the Carson Transit Center between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
