(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indy Chamber is accepting submissions for the 2020 Monumental Awards starting today, recognizing excellence in landscape architecture, interior design, real estate development, architecture, engineering, construction, neighborhood revitalization, reuse and public art. 2020 marks the 43rd Monumental Awards, highlighting the most exciting annual additions to the region’s built environment.
Monumental Awards continues to spotlight the businesses and individuals who make quality of place possible by planning, designing and building more appealing and attractive places to live, work and play.
Submissions are open beginning today Monday, June 29, 2020 until midnight on Friday, August 21, 2020. Projects completed between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2020 in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan and Shelby counties are eligible. Projects may include both public and private sector facilities. Submission forms and full guidelines, including category descriptions and judging criteria, are available at https://indychamber.com/events/2020monumentalawards/.
Submissions will be evaluated by expert committees using criteria developed by a number of industry and professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Indiana Construction Roundtable, the Indiana State Museum, the Urban Land Institute, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
The 2020 Monumental Awards will continue as an in-person event, physically distant, adhering to The Indiana Roof, Governor and Mayor’s restrictions. The Indy Chamber will evaluate the restrictions on a weekly basis and watch carefully for new social distancing guidelines. We will prepare to move to a virtual event if needed.
