PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions begin Monday, May 11 on the U.S. 36 bridge over Big Walnut Creek located just east of Bainbridge.
The contractor also plans to begin work on the U.S. 36 Bridge over Monocah Creek next week, located just west of Groveland.
Traffic will be moved around construction one lane at a time with a temporary traffic signal. Construction on these two bridges is scheduled to last through the end of May.
This project was awarded to HIS Contractors for $1.1 million for 12 bridges in Montgomery and Putnam Counties. Work is scheduled to last through the end of October of this year.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
