INDOT Hiring 50 Full Time & Seasonal Workers

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plans to hire more than 50 full-time and seasonal workers in Indianapolis and east central Indiana this fall.

INDOT will be hiring at a career fair at its Indianapolis subdistrict facility (7105 Brookville Road, Indianapolis) on Saturday, Oct. 17. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interviews will be conducted onsite and electronic application assistance will be available.

Applications will be accepted and on-site interviews will also be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday. Oct. 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Indianapolis subdistrict for those unable to attend the hiring event on Saturday, Oct. 17.

INDOT is seeking to fill a variety of positions, including full-time highway road maintenance workers, fleet mechanics and electrical technicians. Seasonal employees are also being sought to assist with snow plowing and other winter road maintenance operations.

Full-time employees are offered a compensation package that includes great schedules to ensure a healthy work/life balance, generous paid time off and comprehensive benefits such as wellness programs and resources, health and life insurance, employer-funded retirement plans and more.

Seasonal employees will be paid 515 per hour and scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. Benefits are not offered for seasonal positions, but seasonal employees will be eligible for overtime. Seasonal employment is expected to begin in November and last through April.

To be considered for employment, applicants must have a valid drives license and the ability to successfully pass a drug screen. Candidates should bring to the career fair:

  • An updated resume
  • Valid drivers license or commercial drivers license (CDL) and current medical examiner’s certificate (if possessed)
  • An original or copy of high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
