Indiana Lyons to Host ABA Midwest Region Final Four

DANVILLE, INDIANA – The Indiana Lyons announced at their basketball game on Feb. 11 that they have been selected to host the American Basketball Association’s (ABA) Midwest Region Final Four at Bosstick Gym in Danville on March 18 and 19, 2023.

The Lyons are members of the eight-team Midwest Region in the ABA, and the top six teams in the region qualify for the tournament. The top two seeded teams earn a first-round bye and automatically advance to the Final Four.

The team that comes out on top in Bosstick Gym on March 19 wins the Midwest Region and earns a trip to the ABA Final Eight Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia in April. The ABA is comprised of more than 150 teams across North America and Japan.

On March 11, the No. 3-seed hosts the No. 6-seed, while the No. 4-seed hosts the No. 5-seed. Winners of those two games will join the top two seeds in Danville the following weekend.

With four weeks left in the regular season, there are still many games left to play that will determine seeding in the Midwest Region Tournament.

In addition to the Lyons, who currently sit in third place in the region with a 12-6 record, the Excelsior Springs Scream from Kansas City, the St. Louis Spirits, the Missouri Capitals from Columbia, the Clarksville (Tennessee) Phoenix, and the Music City Jazz from Nashville are all jockeying for playoff position.

Traditionally, the ABA Midwest Region Tournament has been held in St. Louis. This is the first time it will be held in Danville.

As details emerge, the Lyons will update their website, Facebook page, and Instagram account accordingly.

The Lyons host the Spirits at Bosstick Gym on Sunday, Feb. 19 in a critical game for tournament seeding. They finish out their regular season with home games on Feb. 25, 26, and March 4.

Bosstick Gym is located within Danville Town Hall at 49 N. Wayne Street.
