Indiana Democrats Receive Final Approval for 2016 Delegate Selection Plan

Indianapolis, IN—The Indiana Democratic Party received final approval from the Democratic National Committee to implement the Indiana Delegate Selection Plan. The Plan outlines how Indiana will allocate and select its 98 delegates and alternates to the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 25-28, 2016.

Indiana has 56 District-Level Delegates that will be elected at the Indiana State Convention in downtown Indianapolis on June 18, 2016. The 18 At-Large Delegates, six At-Large Alternates, and nine PLEO (party leader and elected official) delegates will be selected at the conclusion of the State Convention.

The Party will conduct trainings and webinars in the coming months to help inform every Democrat of the process to become a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention. Trainings will be posted on the Party’s website as information becomes available. The Party will also implement steps to ensure that participants in the process accurately reflect the Democratic Electorate in Indiana.
