INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide Unit is investigating after a man is found lying outside shot multiple times and later dies at the hospital.
On Saturday evening after 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3000 N. Sherman Drive on report of a person shot. When they arrived they found a 51-year-old male lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS crews transported the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Later that evening the victim was upgraded to serious condition, but later the victim’s condition worsen and he was subsequently pronounced deceased by medical staff at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Leroy Brown of Indianapolis.
At this time homicide detectives have not yet released any reliable suspect information but are following-up on lead information as the investigation continues.
