INDIANAPOLIS–On December 9, 2015 at approximately 10:48 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to the 900 block of North Denny Street on a report of a person shot. When officer arrived they discovered an unidentified male subject with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. EMS officials arrived a short time later and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene to gather evidence and speak with potential witnesses should the victim die. At approximately 1:21 a.m., the victim died at Eskenazi Hospital while undergoing medical treatment. Detectives continue to follow up on leads and known associates of the victim. The Marion County Coroner will determine a cause and manner of death after an autopsy has been performed. The identity of the deceased will be released after notification has been made.
