IMPD Homicide detectives are investigating female found dead in a car

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead in a vehicle.

On 11.15.2017 at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers with the IMPD were dispatched to 1300 block of S. Senate Avenue on a report of a person shot.  When officers arrived they located an adult female who was inside a vehicle with trauma on her body. Officers called for the assistance of Indianapolis EMS personnel who responded and pronounced the female deceased on scene.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and immediately began canvassing the area for information. The Indianapolis – Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the victim can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
