IMPD Homicide Detectives Arrest Woman in Connection With Recent Homicide

INDIANAPOLIS –  On Saturday, June 20, 2020, just after 7:20 a.m., North District officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of E. 36th Street on a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they located an adult victim who had sustained apparent trauma. Indianapolis EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time after arriving at the hospital.

Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office assisted and determined the exact manner and cause of death.

Simone Delphie

On June 22, 2020, IMPD homicide detectives working in partnership with the Marion County Prosecutors office arrested 27-year-old Simone Delphie on preliminary charges of Reckless Homicide and Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
