INDIANAPOLIS – On February 20, 2019, just after 10:30 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 6000 block of N. Keystone Avenue on a report of a possible decease child. When officers arrived, they were informed by EMS that the child had died.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began speaking with potential witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office assisted in determining the exact manner and cause of death of the victim. The MCCO will release the name of the victim once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
On February 21, 2019, Homicide Detectives identified the alleged suspects involved in the death of the 1-year-old as 19-year-old Kira Fear and 21-year-old Tyree Resnover. Fear and Resnover were both arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent causing death.
A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
