IMPD Homicide Detectives arrest suspect for murder

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives have identified and arrested a suspect for his involvement in the death of Dae Mehm (19), on February 22, 2018.

On February 24, 2018 at 1400 hours, Mr. Hae Di  arrived at the Marion County Jail to turn himself into Deputies. He told deputies that he killed the man that was found at White River a few days earlier. Mr. Hae Di was detained and later interviewed by IMPD Homicide Investigators.

Investigators believe the victim and the suspect were engaged in a physical altercation resulting in the death of the victim. Mr. Hae Di was arrested on preliminary charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, and battery. The Marion County Coroners Officer will determine an official cause and manner of death.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.

Information given via Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and the caller will be eligible for up to a $1000 award for information leading to a felony arrest.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
