IMPD Homicide Detectives Arrest Man in Connection With Recent Downtown Homicide

INDIANAPOLIS –  On Saturday June 6, 2020, at approximately 10:39 a.m., officers were dispatched to 200 E. Market St. to check the welfare of a female found in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Doneasha Galbreath, suffering from apparent trauma. Medics arrived and pronounced her deceased at 10:45 a.m. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the incident occurred at W. 21st St. and I-65, but the victim was driven to 200 E. Market Street.

Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office assisted and determined the exact manner and cause of death.

On June 6, 2020, homicide detectives working in partnership with the Marion County Prosecutors office arrested 23-year-old Ladriel Chapman for his alleged involvement in the death of 21-year-old Doneasha Galbreath.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
