INDIANAPOLIS:  On  December 12, 2018 Just before 1:15 p.m. Officers with The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD)  responded to 920 Broad Ripple Avenue, in response to a caller stating “The Shop” had just been robbed.  This was the second time this business had been robbed during the month of December 2018. Another nearby Business, Three Dog Bakery was also robbed in December of 2018.

Officers working IMPD’s North District located a vehicle with the same Indiana license plate as was provided by the victim of the robbery that occurred on December 12,2018.  A traffic stop was conducted in the area of W. 35th Street and N. Capitol.  The Driver of vehicle was identified as 48-year-old Cameron Williams of Indianapolis.

Robbery Detectives interviewed Williams and he confessed to the following Armed Robberies:

The Shop located at 920 Broadripple Avenue, robbed on December 15,2018.

The Shop located at 920 Broadripple Avenue, robbed on December 5,2018.

Three Dog Bakery located at 844 Broadripple Avenue, robbed on December 4,2018.

Cameron Williams was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail. The Marion County Prosecutors Office will determine what Williams will be formally charged with once detectives submit a probable cause affidavit.

This is another example of how IMPD’s enhanced collaboration with federal and local law enforcement partners continues to yield positive results for the Indianapolis community.

As IMPD beat officers remain diligent in protecting and serving Indianapolis neighborhoods through the holiday season we want to remind citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to police. (See Something Say Something)
