INDIANAPOLIS: On
January 31, 2019, Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police
Department (IMPD) arrested three people in connection with multiple thefts from
vehicles at businesses throughout the city.
Detectives observed a connection within reports of multiple vehicles being
broken into while parked at businesses. A description of a vehicle, by
witnesses, were noted in the reports during the thefts. Detectives worked
with the Fishers Police Department and identified, then arrested Marco Smith,
Jamie Armbrister and Johnny Woodrupp for their involvements in these
thefts. Detectives connected them to at least 24 thefts from
vehicles during the month of January.
Detectives recovered several items, including a firearm, taken from vehicles
and returned them to their owners. This is another example of the
partnership between IMPD and other law enforcement agencies working together to
make our community a safer place.
