IMPD Accident Investigators seek public’s help in locating suspect in serious hit and run accident

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Accident Investigators seek the public’s help in locating suspect who left a man seriously injured after a hit and run accident.

Just after 12:45 a.m. on 05/20/2018, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 3500 blk of Lafayette Rd on reports of a person down. Responding officers located a male victim, later identified as Lavelle Boover (38), laying in the roadway suffering from apparent head trauma. Mr. Boover was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.

IMPD Accident investigators responded and began canvassing the area for witnesses and attempting to locate evidence. Investigators were able to locate surveillance video containing footage of a possible suspect vehicle. The vehicle appeared to be a white sedan. Images of the alleged suspect vehicle is attached.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect and suspect vehicle.
