I-74 project will close the eastbound on ramp at US 231 for 15 Days

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the project on I-74 in Montgomery County will close the eastbound on ramp from U.S. 231 (Exit 34) for 15 days.  The closure will begin Thursday, September 26 for the contractor to reconstruct the pavement from the on ramp to the new bridge over U.S. 231.  The ramp is scheduled to reopen October 10.

Motorists will be advised to take I-74 westbound to State Road 25 and back to I-74 eastbound.

This project includes replacing the decks on the bridges over Sugar Creek and the CSX Railroad, and new bridges over U.S. 231, Little Sugar Creek and over Black Creek.  ICC Group, Inc. was awarded the $14.6 million project.  The contractor will be replacing the eastbound bridges during this construction season. The contract completion date is scheduled in May of 2020.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
