Homicide detectives investigating person shot to death on Indianapolis’ North side Sunday

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating an incident on the city’s North side where a man was shot to death.

Just after 11p.m., on 07/10/2016, IMPD officers responded to the 9000 block of Compton St on the reports of shots fired. Responding officers received additional calls stating that a man had been shot. Officers arrived to find a male, unresponsive in the parking lot. EMS personnel responded and the victim was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives responded and immediately began interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for evidence. Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency are responding to identify and collect possible forensic evidence. The victim’s identity will be released after next of kin has been notified.
