Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Death of Danville Man Involved in Fire

Danville – At approximately 1:52pm on Friday, September 1st, Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives were called to the 3300 block of East Main St. between Danville and Avon to assist the Danville Fire Department.  At that location, a deceased male, who was later identified as Donald Dodson, 86, of Danville was located inside a shed/mini-barn type of structure.  That structure had been significantly involved in a fire that was extinguished by the Danville Fire Department.

A cause and origin investigation into the fire is ongoing by the Danville Fire Department.  As is standard protocol in any fire fatality, the Indiana State Fire Marshall’s Office is also involved in the investigation, along with the Hendricks County Coroner’s Office.  There is no foul play suspected in this incident, and our sincere sympathies go out to the family and friends of the deceased.

We would encourage anyone with additional information about this fire/death investigation is encouraged to contact the Danville Fire Department at 317.745.4180 or the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office at  317.745.9354.
