Hendricks County Drug Task Force Arrests Indianapolis Man Suspected of Dealing a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death

Hendricks County- On September 12th, 2024, the Hendricks County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) responded to a death investigation in Plainfield, Indiana. The HCDTF initiated an investigation after evidence created suspicion of an overdose. On October 15th, 2024, HCDTF Detectives received a Coroner’s Verdict confirming the cause of death as Fentanyl Intoxication. The Defendant, Paul Beaty, was apprehended in Indianapolis on October 17th, 2024, after HCDTF Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dealing a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death – Level 1 Felony.

As this is still an ongoing investigation, no further details are being released. 

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Dealing a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death is an Indiana statute added in 2018 as a Level I Felony.  It provides stern accountability to illicit drug dealers for their role in overdose deaths in the State of Indiana.

The Hendricks County Drug Task Force is committed to investigating these tragic cases and when probable cause exists, prosecutions will be made.
