Greenfield Man Hospitalized Following Hancock County ATV Accident

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred yesterday evening on private property in Hancock County.

At approximately 6:51 p.m., First Responders were dispatched to the 400 block of Johnson Drive in Greenfield, IN reference an ATV accident with injury.

Upon arrival, units discovered that Brett Granger, 47, of Greenfield, suffering from head and chest injuries as a result of the accident.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Granger was operating along a long driveway when he struck a large rock causing him to be thrown from the machine.

Granger was transported to Hancock Regional Hospital by ambulance and then transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  He is currently listed in stable condition.

Granger was not wearing a helmet or protective gear at the time of the accident.  Alcohol appears to have been a factor, but the investigation is ongoing.

Agencies on scene include Indiana Conservation Officers, Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and Greenfield Fire Territory.

All individuals charged with crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
