Governor Extends Stay-at-Home, K-12 Remote Learning Orders Through April 20

To continue our state’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, Gov. Holcomb announced Indiana’s stay-at-home executive order will be extended through Monday, April 20.

Hoosiers should remain in their homes except when performing essential work, personal duties or obligations.

The Indiana State Department of Health also offers a 24-hour toll-free call center at 877-826-0011 that includes options for the public (ext. 1) and health care providers (ext. 2). Call center staff are available to answer general COVID-19 questions, but will not offer medical advice or provide test results.

Additionally, Gov. Holcomb signed a new executive order on Thursday, April 2, to extend the closure of Indiana’s K-12 schools through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

The new order provides schools greater flexibility to ensure they will not lose funding if they are unable to meet the minimum number of school days normally required by state law. It also gives teachers greater flexibility by extending teacher licenses expiring between March 1, 2020 and Aug. 31, 2020 until Sept. 1, 2020.
