Early Thursday Morning Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that has left a man dead.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to a person shot in the 10100 block of Pineneedle Court.  When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male in a vacant apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.  EMS personnel pronounced the male deceased at the scene.  

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to the shooting and have not yet released any suspect information.  The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is currently processing the crime scene for forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine a cause and manner of death.  The decedent’s name will be released once next-of-kind has been notified.    Investigators urge anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).  All information shared via Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is considered anonymous.
