Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch

STATEHOUSE (April 20, 2018) – The Purdue University College of Liberal Arts and the CLA Alumni Board presented Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch with the Distinguished Alumni Award for her positive impact in the state of Indiana.

“I am very grateful to Purdue for the experiences I have had, and the impact it made on my life,” Crouch said. “The courses I took for my political science major at the university peaked my interest in pubic service and set me on a path I could never have imagined.”

Crouch graduated from Purdue University with a degree in political science, spurring her interest in public service, which ultimately led her to becoming the 52nd lieutenant governor of Indiana.

“The College of Liberal Arts is pleased to honor Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch with the Distinguished Alumni Award,” said Justin S. Morrill Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, David Reingold. “Her leadership and service to her community and our state reflect the aspirations of our college to prepare the next generation of leaders. A graduate of our department of political science, Suzanne stands as an example to our students of the impact that is possible with a Purdue Liberal Arts Degree.”

The College of Liberal Arts, in cooperation with the Purdue Alumni Association, have presented this award to Liberal Arts alumni who distinguish themselves in their careers since 1986.

“Purdue will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am inspired by the work the university is doing to set our next generation of leaders on a path of excellence,” Crouch said. “Thank you to the College of Liberal Arts, and David for honoring me with this recognition.”
