Construction work will begin March 30 on US 36 in Avon

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces work begins on or after Wednesday, March 30 on the added travel lanes project on U.S. 36 in Avon. Traffic will be shifted to the south side of U.S. 36 so work can begin in the westbound lanes. This is scheduled to be done overnight between the hours of 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Friday, April 1.This project spans from Shiloh Park Dr. to just east of Raceway Road.  Two lanes will remain open for both directions of travel on U.S. 36.

The primary purpose of the project is to reduce delays and improve the safety on U.S. 36 with a focus on the heavily congested portion between the Ronald Reagan Parkway and Raceway Road.

White Construction Inc. was awarded the $8.6 million contract.  This work is scheduled to be completed in October of this year.
