Congressman Todd Rokita Files Statement of Candidacy

INDIANAPOLIS- On Friday, Congressman Todd Rokita filed paperwork to officially become a candidate for Congress in Indiana’s Fourth Congressional District.  Rokita, a Republican from Indianapolis, has represented the Fourth Congressional District since 2011.

“The highest honor of my and my family’s lives has been serving and fighting for Hoosiers so that they can build better lives for themselves, regardless for whom they voted.  I am humbled and excited to announce that I will be seeking re-election to the Fourth Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives so that I can continue this work.” said Rokita.

Congressman Rokita serves on many high profile committees including serving as Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Chairman of the K-12 Education Subcommittee, and as the only Hoosier from the Majority Party to serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“During my time in Congress, we have made great progress. As Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee, I helped craft the first bicameral, balanced budget deal the nation has seen in over a decade.  As Chairman of the K-12 Education Subcommittee, we passed education reforms that return the most authority, autonomy, and control to the states in 25 years.  On the Transportation Committee, we delivered a 5-year, fully paid for transportation bill with two groundbreaking policies developed right here in the ‘Crossroads of America'” added Rokita.
