Clinton Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

Vermillion County—Just before noon today, Indiana State Police Detectives from the Lafayette Post, along with ISP Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children and Cyber Crimes Units, arrived at 2201 East County Road 1510 South, Clinton, to serve a Vermillion County Circuit Court search warrant related to an active child pornography investigation. The search resulted in one arrest.

Arrested:          Curt J. Gruner Jr., age 29, of Clinton, IN.

Held in Vermillion County Jail

Charges:           Five (5) counts of Possession of Child Pornography

Utilizing the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Mobile Forensics Vehicle at the scene, detectives were able to determine that Gruner possessed hundreds of images depicting child pornography on his personal electronic devices. Those devices were seized for evidence and further examination with the possibility of enhanced charges in the future. The case originated through information developed by the ISP ICAC Unit.

The case was investigated by ISP Detective Stephen Buckley of the Lafayette Post. Assisting were other ISP detectives from the Lafayette Post, detectives from the ISP Cyber Crimes Investigations Unit, detectives from the ISP Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, Putnamville Troopers, Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clinton Police Department.
