The Brownsburg Park Board welcomed two new members at its Jan. 17 meeting. Amy Hobrock and Michael Zonder each were appointed by the Town Council to serve a four-year term on the board.
Amy has worked for Aetna for more than 20 years and is currently the Director of Medical Claims Management. She believes one of the strengths of Brownsburg Parks is that the staff are “open to ideas and really care about the needs of the community.” Michael serves as the Associate Director of Enforcement for the NCAA, a position he has held for the past 10 years. An active user of local parks and trails, Michael said he sought a seat on the board because he believes “a robust, well-maintained and fiscally responsible park system benefits the town and its residents in many ways.”
Both are eager to put their individual skill sets to work on behalf of the parks system. Michael said he looks forward to helping Brownsburg Parks “work toward expanding options for indoor recreation opportunties, using trail projects to create greater connectivity throughout town, and creating park access for underserved areas of the community,” while Amy said she is “very dedicated to serving on the Board to ensure community needs are met.” The community is invited to attend Park Board meetings on the third Thursday of each month (except November and December) at 6:30 pm in the Town Hall Council Room.
