Body of Elwood man recovered from White River

(Noblesville) Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a body that was recovered yesterday evening from the White River.

At approximately 8:06 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the area of the White River and State Road 13 for a male subject found submerged in the water.

Charles E. Bond, 37, of Elwood, had been jumping from a homemade elevated platform into the river.  It appears Bond struck an object while jumping and did not resurface.

A kayaker located Bond and he was recovered by first responders.

This incident is still under investigation and an exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, White River Township Fire Department, and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
