Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today voted for legislation that would reauthorize the programs of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the next five years. The bill includes language authored by Congressman Banks to recognize the hangar at Smith Field in Fort Wayne as the National Airmail Museum.“This museum will be a huge asset for Fort Wayne and attract visitors from all over the country who want to learn more about our nation’s aviation history,” said Banks. “I’m grateful to the Friends of Smith Field who have this vision and for allowing me to play a part in this process. I look forward to visiting this one-of-a-kind museum in the future.”

The House passed the legislation with a vote of 398 to 23. It now goes to the Senate for consideration before heading to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.
