Avon Chamber of Commerce to host fundraiser to purchase police helmets and vest plates for Avon Police

Avon, IN, September 7, 2016– The Executive Director of the Avon Chamber of Commerce and the Chief of the Avon Police Department will go head to head in a friendly competition beginning at 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 13^th, to raise funds for new helmets and vest plates for the Avon Police Department.

Tom Downard and Chief Sean Stoops will be raising funds from the top of the Avon Community School Corporation Administration building located at 7203 East US Hwy 36 in Avon. Chamber Members and Local Businesses (Tom Downard) vs Civic and Civilian Groups (Chief Stoops) will be attempting to raise $10,000. The first one to reach $5,000 will come down off the roof, while the other stays until the funds are raised.

Credit card donations accepted online at avonchamber.org. Donations will be accepted at the Avon Chamber office between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm or at the Avon Police Department. Cash and check donations will also be accepted at the fundraiser location starting on September 13^th.
