Auditor Crouch’s Statement on the Passing of Former Governor Edgar Whitcomb

STATEHOUSE – Upon hearing of the passing of former governor Ed Whitcomb, Indiana Auditor of State Suzanne Crouch released the following statement:

“An author, lawyer, pilot, world traveler, veteran and statesman, 43rd Governor Edgar Whitcomb was a true renaissance man and an Indiana treasure.

“Though we are saddened to hear of his passing, Hoosiers can be proud of Governor Whitcomb’s lasting legacy and vision of courage and reform.

“While his life was filled with incredible feats and exciting tales, I am particularly inspired by his commitment to make government more efficient and accountable so that Hoosiers would be better served.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to Governor Whitcomb for his contributions to the great State of Indiana. I offer my deepest sympathies and stand beside his family in my thoughts and prayers.”
