Aggravated Assault Detectives Arrest Woman After Shooting on Indianapolis West Side

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Aggravated Assault detectives are investigating after a person was shot on the city’s west side.

On December 2, 2018, at approximately 3:25 p.m., officers were called to 3114 W. 9th Street on a report of a person shot.   When officers arrived they located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound in the back.  The victim was transported by Indianapolis EMS to an area hospital in serious condition.  Indianapolis EMS also transported the victim’s wife to the hospital with multiple dog bites.

Aggravated Assault detectives responded to the scene and hospital.  Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the victim and her wife identified as 34-year-old Chasity Combs got into an argument.  Combs threatened she would kill her wife if she made her leave the house.  Combs then shot her wife.  Detectives placed Chasity Combs under arrest for Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery, and Battery with injury.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
