Engineering Firm Expanding in Hamilton County, Creating High-Wage Jobs

FISHERS, Ind. (Nov. 30, 2017) – Flexware Innovation, a provider of software development, business intelligence and automation engineering services, announced plans today to expand its operations in Hamilton County, creating up to 68 new, high-wage jobs by 2021.

“Indiana continues to take center stage as a hub for innovation as companies like Flexware Innovation continue to develop solutions to solve 21st century challenges,” said Elaine Bedel, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “As we embark on our third century, we will continue to equip businesses with a pro-growth business environment and a skilled talent pipeline. We look forward to witnessing Flexware Innovation’s growth as they develop technology-based solutions right here in Indiana for companies across the U.S.”

The company will invest nearly $8 million to expand its operations in Fishers, renovating and equipping its current 10,000-square-foot facility at 9128 Technology Lane, with plans to consider building a new facility in the future. The improvements, which the company plans to complete in 2019, will support its increased demand for highly-integrated manufacturing and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions for its clients. Renovations on its current space will begin at the beginning of 2018, which will include an open floor plan, focus rooms, IoT lab space, meeting rooms and high-tech presentation and video conference capabilities.

Flexware Innovation currently employs more than 60 professionals, including employees at its two Indiana locations, as well as remote workers across the U.S. The company is currently hiring for business intelligence and software developers, as well as automation and computer integrated manufacturing engineers. These new positions are expected to offer average salaries 75 percent higher than the Hamilton County average wage. Interested applicants may apply online.

Founded in 1996, Flexware Innovation assists Fortune 500 clients, including customers in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, steel and food and beverage industries. The technology integration firm offers software development, automation engineering, business intelligence, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) consulting, delivering solutions that help its clients track products, increase output and adopt digital manufacturing solutions.

“Indiana has done such a wonderful job of making our state a place that manufacturing companies can flourish,” said Scott Whitlock, president and chief executive officer of Flexware Innovation. “Couple that with Fishers’ investments in technology firms like Flexware, and we are in a perfect location to continue to attract talent and live out our passion for helping manufacturing companies. We can’t thank the state and city enough for investing in us in this way.”

The IEDC offered Flexware Innovation Inc. up to $1,000,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $112,500 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Fishers supports this project.

“Flexware’s dedication to innovation and growth is a great example of the thriving entrepreneurial spirit in Fishers,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. “As a result of today’s announcement and as a founding partner in the upcoming IoT Lab, they’ll continue leading technological innovation right here in Fishers.”

Last month, Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced a record-breaking year for economic development in Indiana. In 2017, so far, 270 businesses across all industries have committed to creating nearly 29,000 new Hoosier jobs in the coming years – an all-time high since the IEDC was established in 2005.
