Trooper Spots Erratic and Impaired Driver

Putnam County—Last night around 9:05, Trooper Kyle Hall was patrolling the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 42 mile marker, in response to slow traffic from an earlier crash. During his patrol, he noticed a red Chevrolet passenger car following a tractor-trailer too closely and then travel off the roadway onto the rumble strips. An investigative stop was initiated and the driver, 27-year-old Trent F. Edwards of Indianapolis, IN., was found to be intoxicated.

 Edwards was incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail after testing .23% BAC and possessing approximately two grams of suspected Marijuana, and assorted paraphernalia. Edwards was also found to be wanted on warrant for probation violation out of Hendricks County Indiana. Numerous alcohol containers were located in the vehicle.

Preliminary charges were Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Paraphernalia; No valid license and the Hendricks County warrant.

The arrest was made by Trooper Kyle Hall.
