Fiery Semi Crash Claims the Life of One Person on I-74

ISP SmallIndianapolis, IN – Wednesday afternoon at approximately 10:30 a.m.. emergency crews responded to I-74 eastbound near the 98 mile marker for reports of a large semi fire. Upon arrival crews found a semi tractor trailer in the ditch fully engulfed in flames. The Indianapolis Fire Department worked quickly to extinguish the flames, however the driver of the semi was not immediately located. A subsequent search by IFD revealed the deceased body entrapped under a substantial amount of wreckage. The driver of the semi has been identified as 65 year old Michael Disney Sr. of Indianapolis.

Investigators have not yet to determined why the semi tractor-trailer left the roadway, and there are no indications that another vehicle was involved.
