WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Economic Committee Chairman Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today made the following statement regarding the House Republicans’ plan to reform our tax code:
“Today’s release of the House Republican tax plan completes the ‘A Better Way’ series of reforms put forth by Speaker Paul Ryan. I applaud his vision to tackle the wide range of issues facing Americans today with effective, conservative reforms.
“Particularly, I commend Speaker Ryan and Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady for their hard work putting together a plan to overhaul and modernize our antiquated tax system. I agree we need a simpler, fairer and flatter tax code that will reduce burdens on families and employers, encourage job creation and increase our competitive edge in the worldwide marketplace. This plan will advance the conversation and bring us closer to a pro-growth tax code that puts American families and American workers first.”
