AVON, IN — The Avon High School choir department invites the community to a special musical celebration honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States on Tuesday, September 15. The evening will feature beloved patriotic selections, classic American songs, and a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s veterans.
The department will present two concerts at Avon High School, giving audiences an opportunity to experience the exceptional talent of Avon’s choral students. The early concert will also feature students from all three middle school choir programs. The later concert will feature Avon High School choirs only.
The concerts will showcase a variety of music celebrating the American spirit, including patriotic standards such as “God Bless America” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and American classics including “ROCK in the USA” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” The evening will conclude with the Armed Forces Medley, a special tribute to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. The choir department looks forward to honoring the veterans in attendance and recognizing their service and sacrifice.
“We invite our community to come celebrate America with us through the power of music,” said Leah Trigg, Director of Choral Music at AHS. “This concert is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our students, celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary, and honor the veterans who have helped protect our freedoms.”
Tickets are $7.00 and may be purchased in advance at avonchoirs.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.
The Avon High School Choir Department encourages families, friends, alumni, and community members to attend and support all six Avon High School choirs, as well as the department’s amazing middle school choir programs.
