One person dead, two injured in morning crash at US 40 and Ronald Reagan Parkway

PLAINFIELD/AVON‑ On February 5th, 2025, an officer with the Avon Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of US 40 and Ronald Reagan Parkway. The suspect vehicle failed to stop, and it collided with another motorist. Upon impact, the vehicle that was struck caught fire.

As a result of the collision, one fatality occurred, and two occupants of the struck vehicle sustained injuries. The Avon officers on the scene also suffered injuries while rendering aid to those involved in the crash.

The suspect is in custody.

The Plainfield Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The Brownsburg Police Department and the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office are also assisting in the investigation.
