IMPD Robbery detectives apprehend a suspected juvenile serial robber connected to 7 cell phone store robberies

INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives arrest a 15-year-old juvenile suspect alleged to have robbed 7 area Metro and Boost Mobile cell phone stores. The suspect faces nearly 30 criminal charges, to include Criminal Confinement, Pointing a Firearm, and Armed Robbery.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Robbery detectives through, investigative techniques, developed information that a juvenile had committed several area robberies of wireless phone stores. Detective distributed internal information to officers to be on the lookout for the suspect.

Two alert North District Officers while dealing with an unrelated disturbance, observed the suspect when he walked into the Keystone Wireless located in the 2300 blk. of E. 34th St. Officers immediately began an investigation and determined that he was likely the suspect they had seen in the internal documents. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Robbery office. After being questioned by detectives the suspect was subsequently arrested for 7 different armed robberies of various wireless companies. In several of the robberies the suspect is known to have possessed and pointed a handgun; however no injuries were reported in any of the robberies.

The following locations are alleged to have been robbed by the suspect:

1. 2/2/16 – Metro PCS – 3637 E. 38th Street

2. 2/5/16 – Boost Mobile – 5202 N Keystone

3. 2/6/16 – Boost Mobile – 3701 N. Post Rd

4. 2/14/16 – Boost Mobile – 3790 N. Arlington

5. 2/16/16 – Metro PCS – 2339 E. 53rd St

6. 2/16/16 – Metro PCS – 1515 N. Arlington

7. 2/19/16 – Boost Mobile – 3778 N. Meridian
