Putnam County—This morning at 11:45, Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne stopped a tractor-trailer operating under the carrier International Enterprises for a routine commercial vehicle inspection on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 41 mile marker.
During conversation with the driver, Trooper Dravigne noticed suspicious activity by the driver. A search of the cab area yielded (17) seventeen credit cards with stolen credit card numbers. The driver was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail. The CMV was en route from Long Beach, California to Baltimore, Maryland.
Arrested: Vage Papoukhian, age 49, of Whittier, California
Charges: Fraud (felony) and Forgery (felony)
Assisting were ISP Troopers James Wells and Brad Smith.
ISP has determined the driver was responsible for these alleged acts, not the carrier.
