Hendricks County Community Foundation Hires Community Inclusion & Engagement Manager

The Hendricks County Community Foundation (HCCF) is excited to announce that Bryan Chatfield has joined the staff as HCCF’s new Community Inclusion and Engagement Manager. 

One of HCCF’s core values is “Inclusion: respecting and valuing the unique perspectives of every individual and intentionally working in ways that increase diverse participation and equitable opportunity.” In light of this value, the Community Foundation Board of Directors recognized the need to ensure that Hendricks County is a welcoming community for all, and approved this new position to work towards those ends.

This new position is responsible for internal and external implementation of HCCF’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policy, as well as serving as a primary liaison between the Community Foundation and nonprofit organizations, community and corporate leaders, governmental officials, and others regarding HCCF’s community unity work.  The role is also designed to work in coordination with the Vice President of Programs on efforts to engage the community in community unity work which developed out of the GIFT VII Community Leadership Implementation Grant from Lilly Endowment. 

Chatfield brings valuable experience and education to this position. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and African American & African Diaspora Studies from Indiana University, as well as extensive training in civic leadership and engagement. Chatfield most recently worked as the Associate Director of the Holy Family Shelter in Indianapolis. He has also worked with the Marion County Election Board and is an elected official, currently serving on the Wayne Township board as District 3 Representative and Board Chair.
