IMPD Robbery Detectives Make a Serial Robbery Arrest with the Assistance of Southwest and Northwest District Officers

INDIANAPOLIS-Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Robbery detectives arrested 27-year-old Adrian Chandler on November 27, 2021, following a comprehensive investigation for his alleged role in a series of armed robberies across the city.  The investigation included personnel from the IMPD Robbery Division, Southwest, and Northwest Districts. 

On Saturday, November 27th, IMPD Northwest District Officers responded to the Family Dollar at 2625 Martin Luther King on a report of robbery. Officers arrived and determined an attempted robbery had occurred. The suspect later identified as Adrian Chandler fled from the store prior to the officers arriving. Robbery detectives responded and was able to get a good description of the suspect. On the same day at approximately 1:20 pm IMPD Southwest District Officers were dispatched to the Liquor Land at 4731 W. Washington Street on a report of a robbery in progress. Officers quickly arrived and determined a robbery had occurred and the suspect (later identified as Adrian Chandler) fled prior to officers arriving. Witnesses and employees were able to give a good description of the suspect.

Southwest Officers a short time located a suspect matching the description and determined it was the suspect 27-year-old Adrian Chandler. Robbery detectives arrived on the scene and were able to determine this was the suspect from the earlier attempted robbery.  

Chandler was charged with numerous offenses including felony robbery, attempted robbery, and theft. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine final charges. The investigation is still ongoing.

Chandler is accused of being involved in a combined three robberies reference the incidents below:

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
